Winter Weekend of Wonder Festival

The Winter Weekend of Wonder is an annual outdoor festival in the City of Kenora celebrating the season with activities and events for the whole family.

Kenora's winter festival will take place from February 28 to March 2, 2025. This three-day celebration is family friendly and a great way to get involved in all of the outdoor activities available in Northwestern Ontario. Past events during the festival include-Family ice fishing day, learn to curl event, a specialty farmers’ market, kid’s Super Skills skating obstacle course, and more!

February 28, 2025 - kick-off

Join us for the Winter Weekend Kick-off on Friday, February 28, at the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion!

5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Fire pits, hot chocolate, First Student Stuff-A-Bus Donation Drive
6:30 p.m. - 2025 Snow Sculpture Competition Winner Announced
6:45 p.m. - Fireworks
7:00 p.m. - Karaoke at Bob's Burger Bar

March 1, 2025 - community day

On Saturday, March 1, come out to enjoy events throughout the community!

9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Winter Themed Activity Stations, Kenora Public Library
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Matiowski Winter Market, Seven Generations
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - First Student Stuff-A-Bus Donation Drive, Seven Generations parking lot
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Free Admission to The Muse, Sponsored by RE/MAX
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Mt. Evergreen Ski Hill Open, 120 Mt. Evergreen Road
10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - Ryan Price Magic Show, ticketed event, Kenora Public Library
2:00 p.m. - Matinee Movie, Super Mario Bros., $5 per person, Century Cinema
2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Free Open Swim, Moncrief Construction Sports Centre
8:00 p.m. - In The Dog House, It's A Dog's Life Fundraiser, Lake of the Woods Brewing Company

March 2, 2025 - Rabbit Lake and Kenora Sportsplex

On Sunday, March 2, you can enjoy many activities at Rabbit Lake and the Kenora Sportsplex.

12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Skating, free ice bikes, fire pits, hot chocolate
10:00 a.m.. to 1:00 p.m. - Take-A-Kid Ice Fishing, pre-registration required, Rabbit Lake
12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Snow Machine Sleigh Rides, provided by Sunset Trail Riders
1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Super Skills Skating Obstacle Course, hosted by Skate Keewatin, Ages 5 to and 9 to 12, free to enter, all skaters must wear a helmet. Prizes to be won!
2:00 to 3:00 p.m. - Kenora Bed n' Bale Goat Visits, bring quarters for the critter snack machine and cameras for photo ops. Try out the fat bikes and kick sleds!
12:00 to 4:00 p.m. - Free Open Field and Lakelife PlayCentre Kenora Sportsplex. Children must be supervised at all times while on the turf and at the Playcentre. No food or beverages are allowed on the turf or in Playcentre. Indoor shoes must be worn on the turf and at the PlayCentre.
12:00 to 4:00 p.m. - First Student Stuff-A-Bus Donation Drive Kenora Sportsplex parking lot

Carving Dates: February 7 to 24, 2025 - subject to change.

Theme: Your favourite event or activity in Kenora over the past 25 years.
