Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre
Located at 931 Lakeview Drive, the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre is the home of Tourism Kenora.
Hours open to discover
Winter
- Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Summer
- Open Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Open Friday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Exhibits
Inside the Discovery Centre check out the two permanent Science North Exhibits. Check out North America's Largest Outboard Motor collection upstairs with over 40 motors dating from 1911 to 1960. From time to time, we host temporary exhibits including local art displays.
Outside the Discovery Centre you can experience the Discovery Forest. Take a short walk through the interpretative forest to learn about the uses of these natural species by our Indigenous communities.
Along the lake, we have built a model shoreline to show what is needed to prevent erosion and support healthy a shoreline on the Lake of the Woods.
Harbourfront Pavilion
Located in Kenora's Winkler Harbourfront Park and neighbouring the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion, this information centre is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the summer months.
Jarnel Contracting Pavilion
While the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion is not an information centre, it is available to rent for a variety of events and functions. Contact us to book.
Rental fees
View the rental fees. You must pay a 25% deposit fee. Cancellations with proper notice will incur a $25.00 administration fee. Applicable taxes are not included in the fee.

Public events
Fees may be waived for special events that are open to the community at-large and of municipal importance. This is subject to City staff approval.
