Take notice that the City of Kenora Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) will hold a virtual open house via Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, August 21, at 6 p.m. to consider a recommendation to City of Kenora Council on a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment as it pertains to Zoning By-law No. 101-2015 under Section 34 of the Planning Act (RSO 1990), as described below and shown on the map below.

PAC virtual meeting
When: Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
Location: PAC will be hosting a virtual meeting via Zoom Meeting, which allows for participation by telephone, as well as by computers and mobile devices. Access to the virtual meeting will be available by request and a recording of the meeting can be viewed following the meeting on our Planning Advisory Committee page.
Please register with the Secretary-Treasurer by emailing Planning by Friday, August 16, at 4:30 p.m.
Take notice that Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora will hold a Statutory Public Meeting to consider the proposed application.
Statutory public meeting
When: Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.
Location: Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 Main Street South, Kenora, ON
Members of the public interested in attending the public meeting, may attend in person, or watch the livestream meeting on our Agenda and Minutes page. For access to speak at the public meeting virtually, please contact the City Clerk. If you attend in person, there is no need to register to attend. Please note that there are multiple Statutory Public Meetings being held and the meeting for this application will be held third.
The Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora will consider a decision regarding the application during their meeting on Tuesday, September 17, at 5:00 p.m. Access to that livestream meeting may be viewed on our Agenda and Minutes page.

Area proposed to be rezoned from “R2 – HL – EP” to “LC[60] – HL - EP” is outlined in red.
Be advised that the Corporation of the City of Kenora considered the Application for an Amendment to the Zoning By-law to be complete on July 11, 2024.
Purpose and effect
To change the zoning of the subject property from ‘R2’ Residential – Second Density Zone, ‘HL’ Hazard Land and ‘EP’ Environmental Protection underlay/overlay, to a site specific ‘LC’ Local Commercial Zone to permit the additional use of recreational rental establishment, ‘HL’ Hazard Land and ‘EP’ Environmental Protection underlay/overlay. Virtual public meeting
Although Council meetings are being held virtually via live stream, there are still several ways in which the general public can provide input on the proposed application, as follows:
Submit comments in writing
Persons wishing to provide comments for consideration at the Statutory Public Meeting may submit such comments in writing no later than Friday, September 6, 2024, quoting File Number: D14-24-05, by email to Planning, or by regular mail to Mrs. Tara Vader, Associate Planner, 60 Fourteenth Street North, 2nd Floor, Kenora, ON P9N 3X2
Register to speak at the PAC meeting
If you wish to speak at the PAC Meeting, you are asked to register in advance by email to Planning no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 and quote File Number: D14-24-05. To register by phone, please call 807-467-2152.
Failure to make oral or written submission
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of The Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Corporation of the City of Kenora before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to The Corporation of the City of Kenora before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
Notice of decision
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Kenora in respect of the Application for Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to Heather Pihulak, Clerk of The Corporation of the City of Kenora at 1 Main Street South, Kenora, ON P9N 3X2.
