Thank you to the residents and businesses of Keewatin and Norman for your efforts in reducing water usage during this critical time while our crews address the water main break on Norman Drive. However, more help is still needed to ensure our water supply remains stable.
Please refrain from taking baths and showers tonight and also avoid running your dishwasher.
The closure of Norman Drive and surrounding roads still remains in effect. For those planning travel to and from the Norman and Keewatin areas, please use the Kenora Bypass to help facilitate the repair work and minimize travel disruptions.
The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is still in effect for homes and businesses in the following areas:
- Norman
- Keewatin
- Highway 17 West
- Darlington Drive
All water from taps should be boiled for at least one minute if it is used for human consumption.
Boiling removes harmful bacteria in the water that may cause illness. Once boiled the water can be stored in the refrigerator in a clean food-safe container and should be used for other activities where it may be ingested.
For information regarding how to care for your family or continue running your business during a Boil Water Advisory, contact a Public Health Inspector at your local Northwestern Health Unit at 807-468-3147 or 1-800-830-5978.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
