Geographic Names Questionnaire

The Ontario Geographic Names Board Secretariat at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has received two applications to officially name two islands near our municipality. Your input is needed!

Is there a local name for the islands in question? Do you support the proposed names? Please complete the questionnaire to assist the Ontario Geographic Names Board Secretariat in the naming process for: 

1. Arcadia Island: Located in Lake of the Woods between Galt Island and Allans Island, District of Kenora.

2. Minor Island: Located in the Winnipeg River east of Wet Island, District of Kenora.

The deadline to submit questionnaires is January 22, 2024.
