City Unveils New Accessible Path and Upgraded Playground at Norman Park
Update - August 13, 2024
Event has been postponed to near future. Date to be determined. Postponed due to completing signage on the pathway and the playground gravity rail.
The City is excited to announce significant park enhancements, including a new accessible paved path and an updated playground to Norman Park Beach.
To celebrate these improvements, we will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in the near future. Date to be announced. The ceremony will take place at Norman Park near the beach, located at 35 Minnesota Street. We warmly invite all residents and visitors to join us for this special occasion and be among the first to enjoy the upgraded facilities.
Kyle Attanasio, Chief Administrative Officer, states, “The new accessible paved path at Norman Park Beach is a testament to our dedication to enhancing community spaces. This project reflects our vision of a more inclusive city where residents and visitors can enjoy our parks comfortably. We're thrilled to invite everyone to see these wonderful upgrades firsthand."
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation for their generous funding, which made these enhancements possible. We also extend our appreciation to Dunit Contracting for their exceptional work on the construction of the accessible paved path and to CRCS Recreation for the design and installation of the newest playground additions.
This event marks a significant step forward in making our community spaces more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We look forward to celebrating with you!
