The City of Kenora is pleased to announce that Ryan Marsh, Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) has accepted the role of Director of Finance/City Treasurer.
The City worked closely with an independent recruitment firm, which conducted an extensive search that attracted high-quality external candidates from across the country. The City sought a candidate who was strategic, innovative, and collaborative. Ryan brings a progressive vision to the department that will aid the City in modernizing its overall financial services.
Ryan joins the City of Kenora from the City of Winnipeg where he has gained over twenty years of public administration experience and fifteen years of financial leadership in a municipal setting.
As Director of Finance, Ryan will be responsible for the financial well-being of the City of Kenora through effective planning, administration, systems management, investing, and reporting as well as carrying out the statutory duties of the City Treasurer in accordance with the Municipal Act.
Ryan and his family have deep roots in the Kenora area and Kenora has been his year-round home away from home for many years. Ryan is eager to give back to the City and be part of its future growth and success.

After 20 plus years with the City of Kenora, current Director of Finance Charlotte Edie will retire in early 2023. Charlotte leaves of lasting legacy of prudent financial leadership and the City is in a strong financial position as a result of her hard work and dedication.
Ryan starts with the City on August 8 which will allow for a transition period with the retiring Director of Finance.
