Interlibrary Loans
What is an Interlibrary Loan?
Not every library can house every book. If there is a book you'd like to read that we don't own, we can request to borrow it on your behalf from another Ontario library at no cost to you!. We have borrowed materials from as close as Dryden, and as far as London. Most books are available to borrow however some libraries may not be willing to lend new releases, books which are in high demand, or books which are very old or rare.
How do I request an Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary Loans (ILLO) can be requested by completing an Interlibrary Loan Request Form. You can also request an ILLO by phone or in person at either the Kenora or Keewatin Library. Interlibrary Loans usually arrive within a couple of weeks, but they can take longer depending on the lending library location, and availability of the item. Please have patience! As soon as your item arrives, we will contact you to let you know! Interlibrary Loans which are not picked up may be subject to a $2.00 fine.
