About our Libraries
The City of Kenora Public Libraries are here to serve the residents, seasonal residents, and visitors of our city.
Patrons are provided two libraries: the Kenora Branch, located at 24 Main Street South, and the Keewatin Branch, located at 221 Main Street, Keewatin. Your Kenora Public Library card can be used at both branches. Staff members are available to assist you in your search for library materials.
The collections, consisting of more than 67,000 books, large print books, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, audiobooks, and DVD's, can be viewed online or at the libraries. The libraries also offer bird watching kits, e-readers, tablets, fishing rods and tackle, as well as LED projector and screen rentals. Other services include interlibrary loan (ILLO) of materials from other libraries across Ontario, home delivery to homebound patrons in our community, access to a fax machine, printer, scanner, photocopier, laminator, word processing software, and microfilm, along with a variety of special programs for children and adults. Electronic resources, such as e-books, e-audiobooks, journals, periodicals, and more are available 24/7
Both branches also provide internet access to patrons at no cost with access provided by the City of Kenora. The internet can be accessed on our public computers, or by logging into our free wi-fi.
While at the Kenora branch check out our community partner, FIREFLY EarlyON Kenora. Located in the Children's Department of the Kenora branch, EarlyON provides information and support on child development and parenting to families with children up to the age of 6 years in Kenora and Sioux Lookout. Play-based learning opportunities are provided for children and their families to participate in together. Parents/caregivers also connect with other families through casual conversations and activities and learn about other services available in the community. See what EarlyON is up to on their calendar.
