Disaster Recovery Assistance Online Information Sessions

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is pleased to invite you to virtual information sessions and help you apply for the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program.
- Thursday, July 14, 5:30 to 7 p.m. for Small Owner-Operated Business and Farms, Not-for-profit Organizations
- Thursday, July 21, 5:30 to 7 p.m. for Homeowner and Tenants
Each session will be delivered online and begin with a 45-minute presentation followed by a question period. They will cover an overview of the guidelines:

Harbourtown Centre Banner Installation Begins

Crews began installation of new streetscaping elements in the Harbourtown Centre over the weekend.
Over 100 new street pole banners will be erected throughout the downtown. The banners are reflective of the new City of Kenora tourism destination brand, accepted by Council in April 2022.
In addition to designing the new destination tourism brand, Wake Marketing has been engaged to deliver the banner initiative. The installation project is anticipated to be completed next week.

Husky the Muskie Restoration Complete

The City of Kenora is excited to share that Husky the Muskie has a brand new look.
The rehabilitation project is now complete. The restored Husky the Muskie will be revealed as the scaffolding is removed later today. Everyone is encouraged to visit and admire the renewal of Kenora’s iconic mascot.

Disaster Relief Program Approved for City of Kenora Homeowners

The Province of Ontario has approved the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program for Kenora.
Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians is a program that can help affected residents recover costs after a natural disaster. Homeowners and residential tenants, small owner-operated businesses and farms, and not-for-profit organizations in your municipality that were affected by the disaster can apply for assistance under the program.
