City Reveals New Parking Kiosks

The City has revealed a modernized method for motorists to pay for parking. New “pay-by-plate” parking kiosks have been installed in different locations in downtown and have now been activated.
To use the “pay–by-plate” method, the vehicle plate number is required. The customer parks at metered space and then finds the closest kiosk to enter plate information and purchase parking time. There are signs at the end of each parking section with directional arrows pointing towards the kiosk location....
Seniors housing to be developed in Kenora

The Kenora District Services Board (KDSB) and the City of Kenora are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached for the City lands known as the “Howard Property” to be utilized to develop new housing. The KDSB has proposed to use the lands to build a 54-unit seniors housing complex. The housing project directly responds to the community’s housing crisis and the lack of affordable housing options for seniors.

The Transfer Station is reminding its customers to ensure all garbage and recycle loads are covered and secured to prevent debris from falling, or sifting onto the road.
A large number of nails, screws, nuts, bolts, and sharp metal objects have been collected on a daily basis by City staff and local residents on the roads leading to the Transfer Station.
