The City of Kenora is excited to announce the appointment of Jon Taylor as the new Chief Building Official. Jon brings a wealth of experience as a carpenter and building inspector, having previously held the roles of Deputy Chief Building Official and Chief Building Official throughout Southern Ontario. Although most of his career has been spent in Southern Ontario, Kenora feels like home to him, reminding him of his roots in New Brunswick.

Sandbags Available

With the changing temperatures and participation patterns, residents may notice runoff from snow or ice, or water pooling near their homes. To support residents with controlling excess water, the City is providing sandbags for residents to fill and take home as needed.

Lake of the Woods Cemetery Spring Clean-up

Please be advised that the Cemetery Staff has started the spring clean-up of the cemetery grounds in preparation for seasonal maintenance.
Clean up involves removing personal items from gravesites, including:
- Flowers or wreaths placed on graves from previous funeral services
- Glass containers, ceramic décor, and other breakable items
- Disheveled, damaged, faded, and broken items will be removed
- Stuffed animals
- Out of season décor, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Halloween
