Portage Bay Closure Following Detailed Condition Assessment

The Portage Bay Bridge is closed until further notice after a thorough conditional assessment found the bridge no longer safe for vehicle or pedestrian access.
The City advises that this closure is expected to be longer-term as we work towards necessary repairs.
During the week of October 21, the Portage Bay Bridge underwent a thorough conditional assessment conducted by a third-party engineer. The City undertakes regular assessments of its bridges on a schedule.

Third Street North Area Water Services Interruption

Please be advised that there will be a temporary water services interruption on Tuesday, October 29, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for customers in the areas of Third Street North, Fourth Street North, and Fifth Street North between Main Street North and Matheson Street North.

Portage Bay Bridge Closure Continues for Assessment and Repair Works

Please be advised that Portage Bay Bridge will remain closed to all vehicles and pedestrians while the bridge assessment work continues. An update on the closure status will be provided next week.
Motorists are advised to continue following the detour routes.
The streetlights remain turned off along the bridge and the south shoreline.
