The City of Kenora has invested $1.6M in the construction and acquisition of a new road that will connect Ninth Street North to Main Street North on the former Abitibi Mill site.

The City of Kenora is pursuing a sustainable trash bag solution for use in the Adopt a Block program by trialling a new compostable bag that will reduce the impact of plastic bags in our landfill.

Today, Tourism Kenora launched a special events grant opportunity for organizers of special events being held within the community.
The Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) revenue is intended to be utilized to support tourism and economic development in the City of Kenora. Normal winter weather fluctuations in Northwestern Ontario create perfect conditions for spring pothole formation. Our Roads Division takes steps to quickly repair potholes. Potholes become much more prevalent during the spring due to the freeze/thaw cycle. Water seeps into cracks in the pavement, saturating the soil underneath.
