KPDSB Hockey Canada Skills Academy is a complete program that includes a strong focus on academics, as well as hockey skill development, off-ice strength and conditioning, mental training and personal and team development, all during the school day. All KPDSB students in grade 4 or higher are eligible to participate.

Learn the basics of skating and hockey in a fun atmosphere. Practices focus on skating and fundamental hockey skills such as stick handling, passing and shooting through engaging on-ice activities and games. Ages 4-6 years.

Initiation Program (IP)

Learn the basics of skating and hockey in a fun atmosphere. Ages 5-6 years.

First Shift

First Shift program is for children aged 6-10 who have never been enrolled in hockey and not sure if it’s for them or not. Get outfitted head-to-toe in Bauer hockey equipment and learn the fundamentals of skating and hockey. Upon completion of this six week program, children can transfer into house league hockey at a discounted seasonal rate.

House League

Five different divisions of recreational hockey: novice, atom, peewee, bantam and midget. Learn the fundamentals of hockey and how to work as a team while developing skills. Compete in a fun, safe, inclusive and rewarding atmosphere. Ages 7-17 years.

AA Hockey

A competitive hockey program through the AA Thistles program. AA levels include atom, peewee and bantam divisions. Master your skills in a fun and competitive league.
