Bridge Assessment Work and Bridge Lane Closures

Please be advised that bridge assessment work will take place during the week of September 9 to 13 on select municipal bridges. Engineers will be using rope access techniques and inspection trucks, and may be seen climbing or working above and below bridge decks to complete their assessments. 

The following bridges are expected to have lane closures: 

• First Avenue South Bridge
  • Tuesday, September 10, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. 

• Keewatin Channel Bridge
  • Tuesday, September 10, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Maple Street and Tenth Avenue South Road Closures

Please be advised that progress on the sewer and water upgrade project will continue on Park Street with the following road closures: 

• Maple Street from Park Street to the dead end will be closed on Tuesday, August 27, and reopening at approximately 7:00 p.m. 

• Tenth Avenue South from Park Street to the back lane will be closed starting Tuesday, August 27, until Monday, September 9.

Vehicle access and parking will not be available during this time; however, pedestrian access will be maintained.

Eighth Street South and Eighth Avenue South Water Main Repairs

Please be advised that the intersection of Eighth Street South and Eighth Avenue South will be closed to all traffic for the remainder of today, August 27, for work on the water main at this location.

Water service will return at 4:30 p.m. today.

Fourteenth Avenue North and Eighth Street North Single Lane Traffic

Please be advised paving operations will continue on Fourteenth Avenue North until Saturday, August 24.

There will be single lane traffic on Eighth Street North crossing Fourteenth Avenue North during the day; however, significant traffic delays can be expected while paving is taking place in the intersection.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes if possible.

We thank the public for their patience and cooperation during the Fourteenth Street North reconstruction project.

Veterans Drive Lane Closure Extended

Please be advised that the Northbound left turning lane on Veterans Drive approaching the intersection at Ninth Street North continues to be closed this evening, August 21. The right lane remains open, and drivers may use it to turn left. 

Repairs to the left lane will be completed and will be reopened tomorrow, August 22. 

Motorists are advised to obey traffic signs and use caution through the work area.
