Tenth Street Closure

Please be advised that Tenth Street from Erie Street to Highway 17 will be closed from Monday, September 16, to Friday, September 20, to continue the road improvement project.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to follow detours through the construction area. Local traffic will be permitted.

Norman Park Playground Completions

Please be advised that upgrades are continuing at Norman Park over the next two weeks, including:
- adding a border around the new gravity rail area,
- adding a pathway to the gravity rail play area, and
- surface grading.
During this time, fencing will be erected in the parking lot, portions of the paved pathway from the Splash Park to the Beach and around the new gravity rail area. The fencing layout will adjust as the work progresses.
The interruption to the paved pathway will be kept to a minimum.

Bridge Assessment Work and Bridge Lane Closures

Please be advised that bridge assessment work will take place during the week of September 9 to 13 on select municipal bridges. Engineers will be using rope access techniques and inspection trucks, and may be seen climbing or working above and below bridge decks to complete their assessments.
The following bridges are expected to have lane closures:
- First Avenue South Bridge
- Tuesday, September 10, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Keewatin Channel Bridge
- Tuesday, September 10, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Hoopla Island Removal

Please be advised that Norman Park beach will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, September 3, to allow for the removal of Hoopla Island.
The playgrounds, washrooms, and Kenora Rotary Splash Park will remain open.
Please watch for equipment moving from the parking lot to the beach and keep a safe distance to allow Hoopla Island to complete its work.
We thank the public for their patience as the seasonal recreation amenity prepares to close for the season.
Temporary Disruption to Garbage and Recycling in Norman

Please be advised that garbage and recycling curbside pick-up was temporarily affected today in select areas of Norman due to severe weather conditions. Bad weather and fallen trees impacted electrical lines, leading to disruptions.
The City could not complete garbage and recycling pick-ups in areas near the Norman Dam and First Avenue West while Synergy North was on the scene removing the trees.
Service to Norman will resume on Thursday, September 5, 2024, as per the regular schedule for garbage...
