Pinecone Drive Condition Advisory

Please be advised that the condition of Pinecone Drive has deteriorated, causing the shoulder of the road to fail.
Motorists should be aware of this hazard and be cautious and slow down when driving on Pinecone Drive.
City crews are setting up barriers along the shoulder of the road and continue to monitor the conditions.
Norman Park Accessibility Project

Please be advised that Sierra Construction will begin constructing an accessible paved walkway at Norman Park starting on Tuesday, September 7.
During the construction period, it may be required to close Norman Beach temporarily to visitors.
The Rotary Splash Park will continue to operate as usual; however, note that the seasonal closing date is mid-September.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Central Park Construction Zone

Please be advised that beginning on Tuesday, August 17, Titan Contractors will begin construction in the Central Park area.
A portion of Park Street will be closed for the day on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
A portion of First Street South will be closed until further notice, with a detour route in place.
A speed bump to protect a bypass pumping line will be installed on Park Street.
A construction speed limit will be posted in the construction zone.

Site Work Development Former Mill Lands

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday, June 16, Kenon Builders will begin preliminary site development on the former mill property. The location will be off of Ninth Street North close to Mellick Avenue on the former mill lands.
This preliminary road work development will lead to the eventual use of the property which will be mixed use of residential and commercial developments.

Covering and Securing Loads to the Transfer Station

The Transfer Station is reminding its customers to ensure all garbage and recycle loads are covered and secured to prevent debris from falling, or sifting onto the road.
A large number of nails, screws, nuts, bolts, and sharp metal objects have been collected on a daily basis by City staff and local residents on the roads leading to the Transfer Station.
