City Encourages Residents to be Prepared for Seasonal Flooding

The City of Kenora Municipal Emergency Control Group wants to remind residents of the seasonal flood risks that come with the spring melt and rising water levels.
As the temperatures climb and the snowpack melts, and water levels rise. This may trigger overland flooding and excessive runoff. We can all take steps to be ready when seasonal flooding occurs.

Water Delivery Schedule Change

Please be advised that water delivery will be available five days a week, Monday to Friday, effective immediately. The delivery area remains south of Kenora By-pass Highway 17A, between the Highway 17 East and West boundaries.
Customers must place the water delivery order by calling the day before the water is required, same day requests are subject to the higher fill fee.

Snow Clearing and Parking

The City of Kenora is reminding citizens about parking for snow clearing this winter.
Please keep the snow and ice on your property when cleaning your yard and driveway after a snow fall. Do not push or pile snow onto municipally-owned streets and sidewalks. When snow is piled on the street or blocks the sidewalk, it is difficult and unsafe for the snow plow operators to clear the snow.
At all times, especially in winter, you may not park your vehicle over or partly onto a sidewalk....
New Crosswalk Fifth Street South and Highway 17 E

Please be advised that there is a new pedestrian crossing located at the Fifth Street South and Highway 17 E intersection.
As the intersection is new, both motorists and pedestrians should proceed with caution while using the intersection.
The pedestrian crossing signal is activated in conjunction with a green light for northbound traffic on Fifth Street South.
Motorists are asked to take extra time ensuring the crosswalk is clear of pedestrians prior to proceeding onto Highway 17 E.
