Lakeview Drive Capital Improvement Project

The City is excited to announce the Lakeview Drive paving project. Work to install new asphalt surfacing between the Roundabout and the Hospital Bridge (Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge) will start Monday, May 13. The project includes periods of overnight work to complete the project quickly.
Here’s what you can expect:
- During the day, two-way traffic will slowly and safely continue through the construction zone.
- Overnight work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., will see traffic reduced to one lane.

Bridge Washing Program and Traffic Delays

Please be advised that there will be traffic delays on municipal bridges starting on Monday, May 6, as City crews begin the spring bridge washing program.
The maintenance work will start on the Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge (hospital bridge) and proceed west, followed by the Matheson Street Bridge, all bridges to the east, and finally, bridges on the north roads.
City crews will be on site at 4:00 a.m. on weekdays for the next few weeks. Please watch for signage and slow down in the work area...
Anicinabe Park, Old Chalet Lane Access Road Closure

Please be advised that the access road between Anicinabe Park and Old Chalet Lane will be closed from Wednesday, May 1, until the Park closes in the fall. This annual temporary closure is put in place while the Park operates each season.

Water Levels and Boat Launches

Please be advised that current water levels on Lake of the Woods and the Winnipeg River system have caused concern for drop-offs and exposed rocks at public boat launches.
The Lake of the Woods Control Board (LWCB) has indicated that the Lake of the Woods water level is on the lower end of the normal range for this time of year, and the Winnipeg River is lower than usual.
According to the LWCB, last week the lake elevation was 322.46 m (1057.94 ft), a 35th percentile level, for this time of year....
