Cemetery Walking Tour

Presented by the Lake of the Woods Museum

The Lake of the Woods Cemetery is the final resting place for many of the colourful characters in Kenora’s past. From the gunslinging wild west days of the 1880s to the boom time of the 1900s and beyond, the Lake of the Woods Museum’s Cemetery Tour looks at the heroes, scoundrels, and colourful characters of our shared past.  The tour not only looks at the interesting stories of Kenora’s past, but also includes discussion of the symbolism found in cemeteries, the folk lore around death and dying, and history of the Lake of the Woods Cemetery its self.
