10:00 – 11:00 School Visit #1 Beaver Brae High School The Keewatin Patricia District School Board will be organizing students to gather in the gymnasium and a special program will be held for the students in attendance including a visit with the Stanley Cup!

This event is closed to the students/staff of the Keewatin Patricia District School Board.

13:30 – 14:30 Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Clinic Keewatin Memorial Arena 40 minor hockey kids from Kenora will participate in a clinic with hockey development teams from the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club. Spectators are welcome to attend and watch the minor hockey players on the ice with NHL development trainers.
14:30 – 15:30 Winnipeg Jets Hockey Clinic Keewatin Memorial Arena 40 minor hockey kids from Kenora will participate in a clinic with hockey development teams from the Winnipeg Jets hockey club. Spectators are welcome to attend and watch the minor hockey players on the ice with NHL development trainers.
15:00 – 18:00 High School Girls Hockey Game – Beaver Brae Secondary School vs St. Thomas Aquinas High School Kenora Recreation Centre This is a regular season game for the two girl’s high school teams. The public is welcome to attend. A $5 admission fee will be required at the door.
16:00 – 18:30 Scotiabank Kids Hot Stove Scotiabank, Kenora Branch 40 Kenora minor hockey players will get the chance to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Stanley Cup up close and participate in a kid-friendly live Q & A with NHL legends Lanny McDonald, Darcy Tucker. Mark Napier, Wendel Clark and Olympian Cassie Campbell-Pascall. This is a Scotiabank INVITE only event for the minor hockey players selected.
19:30 – 21:30 Alumni Hockey Game Sponsored by STRONE – NHL and Kenora & Thistles *Ticketed Kenora Recreation Centre Experience a great game of hockey when legends of hockey join Kenora and are drafted within our local Kenora Thistle alumni! A draft will take place to see local alumni’s like Bob Smith, Rick St. Croix and Ryan Reynard join NHL alumni such as Lanny McDonald, Darcy Tucker and Mark Napier. Our own Mike Richards will be amongst the draft. The game will prove to be exciting and entertaining hockey. Novice players from the minor hockey leagues will take the ice during intermission. SOLD OUT!!!
22:00 Music of Hockey ReVampe Night Club Hosted by Ron MacLean and featuring Bryan Trottier and Dave Bidini and the Bidini Band! This evening of music and entertainment will be something not to miss! There are limited tickets left from the Kenora Recreation Centre for $20

11:30 – 13:00 Seniors Visit Pinecrest – District of Kenora Home for the Aged Residents will enjoy a visit from the Stanley Cup and a special program will be held for the senior residents of the home.
This is a closed event to residents and staff only.
13:30 – 14:30 Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Clinic Kenora Recreation Centre 40 Kenora minor hockey kids will participate in a clinic with hockey development teams from the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club.

14:30 – 15:30 Winnipeg Jets Hockey Clinic Kenora Recreation Centre The Heroes of Hockey winners along with their host Kenora hockey Atom team will participate in a clinic with hockey development teams from the Winnipeg Jets hockey club.

8:00 – 12:30 Kroppy Cup presented by Scotiabank Memorial Pond Hockey Tournament Golf Course Bay – Anicinabe Park This is an exciting pond hockey tournament that will see games of hockey being played on the ice at Anicinabe Park!
The round robin will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Golf Course Bay and all three divisions will play at various times throughout the day. Everyone is encouraged to come out to watch the Youth Division (PeeWee and Bantam), Open Division (Midget) and the Old-timers. Cheer on our local hockey players as the pond hockey tradition is renewed on Lake of the Woods. The final games, which will be featured during Rogers Sportsnet national broadcast of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Kenora Harbourfront on Safety Bay.
9:00 – 11:00 Sledge Hockey Demonstration & Trial Kenora Recreation Centre We are fortunate to have members from the Manitoba Sledge Hockey join our Hockey Day in Canada events and something to check out! Sledge hockey follows the rules of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) with modifications. Instead of skates, players use double-blade sledges that allow the puck to pass beneath. Players use two sticks, which have a spike-end for pushing and a blade-end for shooting.
The demo & on-ice experience is open to the public and there is no cost to attend!
8:00 – 9:00 Thistles vs Wanderers Re-enactment Kenora Recreation Centre This is a pond hockey game featuring a re-enactment of the Kenora Thistles winning the Stanley Cup in 1907 over the Montreal Wanderers. The public is welcome to attend and there is no cost!
9:30 – 10:45 Stanley Cup on Display Whitecap Pavilion For many young and old, seeing the Stanley Cup up close and personal is a bucket list experience that many will never have the chance to do! Having your picture taken with the Stanley Cup as part of our Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada event is a chance for you to check off that bucket list item! The public is welcome to attend and there is no cost!
09:30 – 12:00 Scotiabank Community HockeyFest On ice – Safety Bay – Harbourfront 100 local Peewee players from the boys and girls minor hockey associations will take to the ice and will participate in on and off-ice drills. Teams will rotate through on ice and off ice sessions during the event as well experience a special guest speaker presentation with some surprise visits.
11:00 – 11:30 Grand Entry Whitecap Pavilion Fill the tent! Wear your jerseys and bring your kids, friends and family! We want to showcase Kenora and welcome Rogers Sportsnet and hockey celebrities to Kenora! The Grand Entry will kick off the fun filled day under the Whitecap and Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada will be ON AIR until 5 p.m. live under the tent with Ron MacLean!!!
There will be food vendors, hockey celebrities where you can get an instaprint or autograph, a Zamboni interactive game, giveaways, buskers, mascots, NHL alumni interviews, Winnipeg Jets alumni autographs, and the NHL 100th Anniversary museum trailers! So many things to see and do you just can’t miss coming down to the Whitecap!

11:00 – 17:00 Ron MacLean Live Whitecap Pavilion For 27 years generations of hockey enthusiasts have enjoyed Ron MacLean’s broadcasts, now experience Ron’s captivating love for hockey right here in Kenora as he broadcasts live from the Whitecap Pavilion.
12:00 – 3:00 Stanley Cup photos Whitecap Pavilion For many young and old, seeing the Stanley Cup up close and personal is a bucket list experience that many will never have the chance to do! 12:15 – 13:15 Scotiabank Heroes of Hockey Game Kenora Recreation Centre This is a Scotiabank sponsored and hosted event. This program is a competition with three selected teams to compete to win a 2 day visit to Hockey Day in Canada! It’s when kids make friendships that last a lifetime. When they learn to work together, support each other and have fun – on the ice and off.
This game will feature the winners of the Scotiabank Heroes against our very own Lake of the Woods Atom team! The public is welcome to attend and there is no cost for this event.

14:00 – 16:30 Finals Kroppy Cup presented by Scotiabank Memorial Pond Hockey Tournament Safety Bay – Harbourfront You took part all day in the exciting pond hockey tournament at Anicinabe Park, now come down to the Harbourfront and watch the final games!
14:00 Hot Stove event Whitecap Pavilion Conceived in 1939 as a way to keep audiences warm during intermissions, the ‘Hot Stove’ League brought well-known hockey writers together in a small studio to gab about the game on Hockey Night in Canada radio broadcasts. The popular segment eventually made the move to television before being shelved in 1957. This Hot Stove event will be hosted by Ken Reid w/McDonald, Tucker, Napier, Campbell-Pascall and will sure to keep you entertained!
14:00 – 17:00 Midget Hockey Game – Kenora Thistles AAA vs Interlake Lightning Kenora Recreation Centre Our own Kenora AAA Midget Thistles will take to the ice for a game in the heart of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada! Come out and cheer on our local boys and celebrate hockey right in Kenora. A small admission fee is required.
18:30 – 21:00 SIJHL Game – English River Miners vs. Fort Frances Lakers Kenora Recreation Centre A once in a lifetime chance to experience Ron MacLean hosting Hockey Central from our very own Kenora Recreation Centre with a live Coach’s Corner with Don Cherry & Ron MacLean on national tv! All during a fantastic game of hockey when the Superior International Junior Hockey League brings our hometown boys Conner Keith and Jack Bernie from the Fort Frances Lakers to face off against the English River Miners! Get your tickets early to this event as they are sure to sell out! $10 for kids under 12 and all others $15 at the Kenora Recreation Centre.
