A year-round competitive swim program offering professional coaching and swim technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of the club is to provide every member an opportunity to improve their swimming skills at his or her level of ability from beginner to national competitor.
The Junior Sharks program teaches kids the fundamental swimming movements through games and activities. This specialized teaching method develops advanced levels of endurance, kicking, body, hand and breathing control. Junior Sharks progresses into skills such as circle swimming, reading a pace clock and swim meet preparation. Ages 5-10 years.
Swimmers who are ready to continue the challenge of competitive swimming enter the Competitive Group streams. By graduating from Junior Sharks or by coach assessment, swimmers are expected to take part in multiple weekly swimming practices with a dryland component prior to each swim as well as attend club and regional swim meets. There are three levels of competitive groups; the top group of committed and motivated swimmers (Muskies) train and compete for regional, provincial and national swim meets. Ages 10-18 years.
