COVID-19 Updates

The City of Kenora is working with our local health experts and emergency management team to address impact of COVID-19 pandemic.  We are taking the necessary and appropriate actions to respond on a daily, if not hour by hour basis.  We are committed to continuing service levels where possible with safety of both City staff and our residents as our priority.

Closures

The following City buildings and facilities are closed to the public until further notice:

  • Keewatin Memorial Arena
  • Kenora Public Libraries
  • Provincial Offences Courts
  • Fire Station One
  • Playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment
  • All in-home water and sewer services – ceased until further notice

Open and modified services

The following City services are operating and modified to suit the situation. with safety measures in place:

City Council meetings are being held virtually.

City Transit – operating while taking extra precautions to protect the staff and patrons of the City transit.  Tokens and cash only – exact change. No passes accepted.

Transfer Station  – No re-use items will be accepted. HHW depot is open on Thursdays until October 15.

Parking Meters – time limits and fees enforced

Planning and Building – modified services

Beaches, benches, and picnic tables

Skate park, basketball courts, tennis and pickle ball courts

Ball diamonds – dugouts closed

Kenora Public Libraries – curbside holds and pickup

Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre – Sunday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Matiowski Farmers’ Market – Every Wednesday 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.,  new customer guidelines in place

Lake of the Woods Museum and  Douglas Family Art Centre – Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rotary Splash Park – open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

KRC Walking Track – open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

KRC Gym and Fitness Classes – open by appointment only, call 807-467-2087 to book

KRC Aquatic Centre – open with a modified pool schedule

City Hall – open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – masks are required for entry or call Customer Service 807-467-2000 for curbside service.

Operations Centre – open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
