COVID-19 Updates

The City of Kenora is working with our local health experts and emergency management team to address impact of COVID-19 pandemic.  We are taking the necessary and appropriate actions to respond on a daily, if not hour by hour basis.  We are committed to continuing service levels where possible with safety of both City staff and our residents as our priority.


The following City buildings and facilities are closed to the public until further notice:

  • Kenora Recreation Centre
  • Keewatin Memorial Arena
  • City Hall
  • Provincial Offences Courts
  • Operations Centre
  • Lake of the Woods Museum
  • Douglas Family Art Centre
  • Kenora Public Libraries
  • Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre
  • Fire Station One
  • Beaches, playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment, and Splash Park
  • All in-home water and sewer services – ceased until further notice

Open and modified services

The following City services are operating and modified to suit the situation:

City Council meetings are being held virtually.

City Transit – operating while taking extra precautions to protect the staff and patrons of the City transit.  Tokens and cash only – exact change. No passes accepted.

Transfer Station  – bags with bag tags only are accepted and the scale is processing loads as usual. Debit card or credit card transactions only. No cash.  No re-use items will be accepted.

Skate park, basketball courts, tennis and pickle ball courts

Ball diamonds – for groups of 5 or less – Dugouts closed

Kenora Public Libraries – curbside holds and pickup
