Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada Volunteer Registration Now On-line

On June 6, 2016, Sportsnet and Scotiabank announced the City of Kenora as the host community for the 17th annual edition of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada. The national live broadcast will take place on Saturday February 18, 2017 from the Whitecap Pavilion on Kenora’s harbourfront.

Kenora’s local organizing committee has been working on the schedule for this six day celebration of our hockey history and traditions. With every major event of this size, the success of the event will be dependent on many volunteers to run the numerous activities planned. A volunteer sign up is now on-line for those who may be interested in being part of this grass roots hockey festival, which will become another important part of Kenora’s hockey history.

“There is no better way to show your pride and love for our community than volunteering”, says Sheelagh Reid, Volunteer Coordinator. “I do believe that it’s the many volunteers behind the scenes that enable us to host events like Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada in a way that welcomes all participants into our community.“

Volunteers are needed in several areas, such as set up/clean up, security, swag assistants, entertainment, drivers, food service, information and directions, parking lot attendants, and pond hockey assistants.

People interested in becoming a volunteer are asked to register on
