Coney Island Summer Water Service

Public Notice

Please be advised the majority of Coney Island summer water service has been turned on; however, part of the system remains frozen.  For those who have water at this point, you should have received a hand-delivered Boil Water Advisory notice.

Coney Island remains on a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.

All water from taps should be boiled for at least one minute if it is used for human consumption.

Boiling removes harmful bacteria in the water that may cause illness.  Once boiled, the water can be stored in the refrigerator in a clean food-safe container and should be used for other activities where it may be ingested, including:
1)    Brushing teeth or soaking false teeth
2)    Washing fruits and vegetables
3)    Adding to uncooked food or drink
4)    Making ice cubes

For more information about the summer water service, please contact Ray Lindquist at 807-467-2149 or Biman Paudel at 807-467-2296.

For information on how to care for your family during a Boil Water Advisory, please contact the Northwestern Health Unit at 807-467-3147.
